Where had I got to? Ah yes… started recording, and discovered exactly what could go wrong when Program X disabled my soundcard. Logged out. Restarted computer. Restarted browser. Logged in. Not going to try Program X again. Turn on the internal meeting room recorder instead…
Flashback to a reading a few days earlier:
Before the webinar, I was very worried about my computer’s habit of freezing – anything up to four and five times a day, and always at truly inspired moments. Much divination ensued. Reinstalling Windows sounded (with 27 changing to 2) like it mightwork, but would be a distraction from the preparation I still needed to do.
What if I don’t reinstall Windows, how will the system cope?

Gathering Following…
We call these meetings ‘I Ching Gatherings’, so this much is clear. There is also the double meaning of placing a lot of heavy demands in one place. And Following suggests things running smoothly, though not necessarily in the way I would plan.
The moving line made me laugh:
‘There is sincerity and confidence, no completion.
Hence disorder, hence gathering together.
Like a call, one clasp of the hands brings about laughter.
No doubts.
Going on, not a mistake.’
So I expected some computer-induced chaos to start with – and also assumed that we would get over it. And after I started closing a lot of programs that normally run in the background, I had a full five successive days with no freezes at all. This after the previous 5 days with at least 2 per day.
Fast-forward. I’d just restarted and logged in again. Sure enough, Stephen was in full flow as I logged in, fielding questions. Kevin sent helpful private text messages to tell me where we’d got to. I turned the meeting room recorder on.
The computer froze. For the first time in five days.
One further restart later, I logged back in. Things were once again going very smoothly without me. (And I’ll get a recording from someone else.)
